Bring your own device (BYOD) is the practice of allowing employees to use their personal mobile devices to accomplish work tasks. Corporate organizations have begun encouraging the use of employee-owned devices in the workplace because it allows workforces to seamlessly switch between work and play on the go. Permitting employees to use their own devices in the workplace promotes a mobile workforce and boosts employee satisfaction and morale, thereby increasing productivity. When lockdowns were initially announced, BYOD environments allowed employees to quickly turn to their trusty personal mobile devices to get work done, preventing a hit to productivity.
