ManageEngine’s Facilities Management Software Gets New iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile User Interface; Making Administrators More Efficient

ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk software also refined to simplify Asset Maintenance and Work Order Management

Austin, Texas, July 21, 2009 - ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost effective network, systems, security and applications management software solutions, today announced the release of the latest version of ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk, an integrated facilities management application featuring a number of new capabilities - the most prominent being an interface for the latest generation of smartphones - designed for administrators of large scale facilities.

This latest release of FacilitiesDesk allows administrators to manage their facilities and assets while on the move. The new version’s mobile interfaces support three leading platforms – iPhone, Blackberry and Windows Mobile. With the new interface, facility managers can instantly connect to their FacilitiesDesk installation from anywhere and check on the status of work requests assigned to them. The new version also helps administrators better manage their workload and more quickly prioritize tasks by separating pending work orders and preventive maintenance tasks under separate tabs. Also, work orders can be reported in real-time, providing up-to-the-minute visibility into maintenance needs.

"FacilitiesDesk has delivered both a quality product and the level of support they talked about while we were evaluating the system with the trial implementation. Each time I needed assistance with the product, the technical support team was very prompt, accurate, and response to our questions. From an IT perspective, the system was quite easy to implement and maintain. I've even got it running in a VM which is a savings on hardware and energy consumption." said Greg Scherer, IT Director, Davis Applied Technology College."

"A growing awareness of the importance of building and facilities management is leading to a rising demand for management software offering superior scalability and functionality," said Ananda Raman Krishnan, product manager, ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk. "In response to these market needs, we are continuing to add dozens of new capabilities to our FacilitiesDesk suite, making it the right choice for even the largest installations."

ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk, an integrated, web-based facility management application, is available in two versions - Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) and Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) – to meet the needs of individual administrators. While each version provides specific benefits, the two are designed to easily integrate, offering a robust feature set, including tracking and management of assets, work orders, and maintenance requests; as well as portfolio and move management.

Key feature additions found in the new FacilitiesDesk (in both CMMS and CAFM editions) include:

  • iPhone, Blackberry and Windows Mobile interfaces.
  • Work order and preventive maintenance management.
  • LDAP support – allows administrators to authenticate and import user information from a variety of directory systems.
  • E-Mail Parsing – Reduces supervisors’ time in sorting a work request.
  • Windows 2008 server support.
  • Enhanced purchase order module and improved user interface.

Availability & Pricing

ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk is available as a downloadable file for both Windows and Linux platforms. A 30-day fully functional trial edition is freely available for evaluation from the website.
