Security information and event management (SIEM) policies make it important to monitor logon attempts. When there are a number of failed attempts on OWA, followed by a successful logon, it is rarely because the user has suddenly recalled their password. Instead, a hacker has likely broken into the network - untraceable, invisible.

"Our customers have been asking us to strengthen Exchange security," said Manikandan Thangaraj, director-program management, ManageEngine. "OWA logon reports provide a degree of security that is unmatched by any other reporting solution on the market today. It's just one example of how we carefully and continuously listen to our customers and respond with a solution that meets their specific requirements."

Setting the Exchange Reporting Standard

OWA Logon Failure reports provide information about individual IP addresses and users, an industry first in OWA reporting. For every web-based logon failure on Microsoft Outlook, the report includes details such as user name, reason for logon failure, server name, browser details, client IP and port number. Monitoring the failed logon attempts helps admins evade vulnerabilities by keeping a close watch on potentially malicious behavior.

Unread Email reports offer consolidated data on the number of unread email messages vis-s?-vis the total number of messages received in each mailbox. The reports also sort and display mailboxes based on the maximum number of unread messages. This data helps admins calculate junk mail volume and identify inactive mailbox users.

Pricing and Availability

OWA Logon Failure and Unread Email reports are available immediately in Exchange Reporter Plus version 5120, which can be downloaded at https://www.manageengine.com/products/exchange-reports/download.html. Pricing starts at $295. A fully functional, 60-day evaluation edition of Exchange Reporter Plus is also available for free download.
